Pencil Icon Instructions

Since each of you only has 1 member in your group, you will need to complete the tasks for all of the roles.
This was written for groups with 3 members.
Step 1:

Request a drawn maze from another student.

Step 2:

Assign each of the following roles to a group member for the day. You will switch roles each day. If a team member is gone, you can split the remaining role between the two of you.

Facilitator:
    • Make a new copy of this page template for today: Template - Follow a Maze
    • Have the members of your team help with answering the questions and documenting progress
    • Help the team determine the code blocks needed to complete the maze
Technician:
    • Setup the arm with help from your team members
    • Move the arm to important positions while in Teach Mode
    • Help the team determine the code blocks needed to complete the maze
Programmer:
    • Create a new Vex EXP Code project for the arm
    • Manage the computer side of Teach mode
    • Write the code blocks your team decides should be used

Step 3:

Use the Teach Pendant mode to:

    • Identify appropriate offsets for WITH PEN and WITHOUT PEN
    • Identify important locations on the maze that will be needed for coding

Step 4:

NOTE: Take the pen out for this step. You don't want to destroy the maze drawing during your testing.

Identify the sequence of code blocks needed to move your arm through the maze. Test your code frequently so that you can catch errors early and not compound on them.

Step 5:

When your robot seems to be moving safely and correctly through the maze, place the pen back into its holder.

Have a team member record the arm drawing a line through the maze using one of the classroom cameras.

Upload this video to Google drive and share this with the other members of your team.
